FACULTY SUPPORT

In FY20, Berkeley Haas hired a diverse and international group of nine new professors, including a record five women. The new faculty members, who began teaching this fall, include one full professor, two associate professors, and six new assistant professors, hailing from Italy, Argentina, France, China, Canada, and California. In addition to the new professors, seven new lecturers joined the professional faculty to teach classes in various programs.

In the spring, as business as usual was disrupted around the globe, Berkeley Haas faculty offered their wisdom and insight—as well as solutions—to our local and national conversations on the effects of COVID-19 and social unrest. Faculty shared more than 100 insights via interviews and op-eds on topics ranging from which companies best weathered the pandemic and why to the new reality of work environments and how air pollution is linked to systemic racism.

Faculty also lent their expertise to the Berkeley Conversations series, designed to connect leading experts to the public they serve. Within Haas, our faculty contributed to a Leading Through Crisis video series launched by Berkeley Executive Education to help leaders navigate challenging scenarios. The free, short videos, which have been watched more than 32,000 times, include the following:
