INCLUSION

Haas continues to develop leaders who embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and who inspire teams by valuing all perspectives, cultures, and life experiences.

In January, Haas became the first leading business school to offer a core course on managing diverse teams to full-time MBAs. The course will be adapted for our other programs.

EMBA STUDENTS ENDOW FELLOWSHIP

Students in the EMBA Class of 2020 made permanent a $25,000 fellowship originally started by members of the Class of 2016. The Beyond Yourself Endowed Fellowship, funded by members of both classes, will support EMBA students committed to creating racial equity in their work or service to community.

FUNDING FOR MBAs SUPPORTS DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

Two gifts are helping Berkeley Haas increase representation of historically underrepresented communities across academic programs.

  • The Allan Holt DEIB Fellowship will be awarded to full-time MBA students who are members of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, an organization that provides scholarships to support diversity in MBA programs.
  • A new fellowship in partnership with the SF/Bay Area chapter of the National Black MBA Association will increase diversity in the evening and weekend program.

NEED-BASED AWARDS INCREASE ACCESS

In the last two years, the Ma McFarland Fellowship, provided by the generosity of Christina Ma McFarland, MBA 01, and Jason McFarland, has been awarded to full-time MBA students who demonstrate financial need, allowing more students access to a Haas education.
