POWERING IDEAS

Supporting Berkeley Haas thought leadership inspires revolutionary ideas to take hold.

Revolutionizing healthcare through data-driven solutions

The new Center for Healthcare Marketplace Innovation aims to find novel, efficient solutions for our healthcare industry, which currently makes up 20% of the nation’s gross domestic product. A joint endeavor with the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society that recently launched thanks to a gift from an anonymous donor, the Center is led by Haas Professor Jonathan Kolstad and will offer academic and industry connections to facilitate the development of new AI and technology solutions; a novel healthcare data platform; incubation of new companies; and research on clinical decision-making, behavioral economics, and technology.

As part of alumni lifelong learning, this spring’s Haas Forum featured new faculty discussing their research on everything from social hierarchies and healthcare management to decentralized finance and the demand for firearms.

Eight new professors will help shape next generation of Berkeley Leaders

Our eight new ladder faculty are a geographically diverse group hailing from as far as Paris to as close as our nation’s capital, with expertise including urban economics, consumer judgment, social influence, and more. In addition, 20 professional faculty members, four post-doctoral researchers, and three visiting faculty members joined Haas.
